Demi Lovato has only been single for a couple of months since her split with long-time boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, but it looks like a romance might be blooming with John Mayer.

Rumors started swirling soon after the “Confidence” singer was spotted hanging out with Mayer, 39, at Catch L.A. in West Hollywood over the weekend, according to Us Weekly.

Lovato, 24, and the “Gravity” rocker were seen arriving and leaving the rooftop restaurant separately, but eyewitnesses told the magazine they were hitting it off inside.

“John had his arm around Demi and was whispering sweet nothings into her ear,” one person told Us Weekly. “She was into it. They weren't making out or anything, but she was giggling the whole time.”

Another source said the musicians talked for “over an hour.”

This is not the first time the two have crossed paths. In 2009, when Lovato was still a teenager, they collaborated on “World of Chances” – a song from her second album, “Here We Go Again.”

She told MTV News at the time that Mayer had been a “huge influence” on her music and songwriting.

“I guess he had heard I was a huge fan, and he sent me a letter. Then we ended up writing together. And it was really great, because he actually reached out to me, and it was like a dream come true,” she said at the time.

Lovato recently ended her 6-year relationship with Valderrama while Mayer was most recently linked with singer Katy Perry.
