Christie Brinkley’s relaxing vacation in Turks and Caicos was suddenly disrupted when the 61-year-old supermodel had a nasty accident while trying to save a bird.
Brinkley shared a photo collage on Monday of herself in a hospital gown, sporting scratches and a swollen and bruised eye.
“We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird,” she wrote alongside the pics. “My grateful heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane, and my friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr. Askari and his professional caring and adorable team and to my bestie @artminster who spent her much needed and deserved holiday by my bedside .. I [can’t] possibly thank you enough and I offer you a pain check .. I mean rain check!”
At the end of her post she added, “#grateful #thankful #itcouldhavebeenworse! #youneverknow #liveachday.”
Brinkley seemingly resumed her vacation to some extent after her hospital visit, as she shared a photo of her daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, in a hat and bikini hanging out on the beach.
