Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron has adopted an African-American girl, TMZ reported.

The newborn, whose name is August, is Theron’s second child. She adopted a son, Jackson, from South Africa in 2012, the site reports.
August was born in the United States.

Theron, 39, adopted August just over a month after calling off her engagement to actor Sean Penn, 54, US magazine reported. The couple broke up shortly after attending the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France.

According to US, Theron, who won an Academy Award in 2004 for her portrayal of a serial killer in “Monster,” had to reunite with Penn July 29 for work on her latest film “The Last Face,” which Penn directed.

Theron previously had a nine-year relationship with Irish actor Stuart Townsend.
