American Idol: Adedapo and Megia Eliminated; Brazilian Carnaval-Flavored Performance Wows

American Idol gave the country a taste of Brazil with samba dancers and capoeira fighters took the stage – as two contestants were booted from the competition.

It was the end of the road for Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia.

The top 11 contestants all performed, pairing up in groups right before being told if they were in the bottom three. Naima Adedapo and Jacob Lusk delivered a strong performance, singing Ashford & Simpson’s “Solid” classic 80’s tune. But it turned out to be Naima's last song, as she was given the bad news that she was in the bottom three.

“The person in the bottom three and in danger of elimination tonight is Naima, Jacob you are safe,” said American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

Thia Megia, 15, the competition's youngest contestant, joined Naima in the bottom.

Megia, along with Haley Reinhart and Pia Tuscano, sang Katty Perry’s “Teenage Dream”  in a performance that satisfied J.Lo, who danced along for the entire song.

Seacrest reinforced how there would be “no more saves, no more second chances.”

James Durbin, Paul McDonald, Casey Abrams and Stefano Langone teamed up to sing “Band on the Run,” a 1973 song by Paul McCartney & Wings.

“After that incredible vote, the person in the bottom three is Paul,” announced Seacreast. “Stefano you are safe.”

As the saved contestants looked on in tears, Seacrest informed that America had saved Paul after all.

“The person that is surviving is Paul,” Seacrest said. “It’s the end of the road for Thia and Naima.”
