Alec Baldwin has some regrets.

The 59-year-old actor appeared on “Good Morning America” on Monday to promote his upcoming memoir, titled “Nevertheless." He also openly spoke about that infamous voicemail.

The father of four made headlines in 2007 when a voicemail to his then 11-year-old daughter, in which he called her a “rude, thoughtless little pig,” was leaked online.

The scandal occurred while Baldwin faced custody issues with his ex-wife, actress Kim Basinger. Baldwin admitted that the incident has since caused a “permanent break” in his relationship with the now 21-year-old model.

“It’s thrown in your face every day,” he explained. “There are people who admonish me, or attack me, and use that as a constant spearhead to do that. It’s a scab that never heals because it’s been picked at all the time by so many people. I think my daughter — that’s hurt her in a permanent way.”

However, the father and daughter have previously laughed about the mishap. In 2015, the duo posted a photo on their Instagram pages where they mock the voicemail. Ireland herself also thought it was blown out of proportion.

“The only problem with that voicemail was that people made it out to be a way bigger deal than it was,” she previously told Page Six in 2012. “He’s said stuff like that before just because he’s frustrated. For me it was like, ‘OK, whatever.’ I called him back I was like, ‘Sorry dad, I didn’t my phone.’ That was it.”
