Kaley Cuoco came under fire over the holiday weekend for posting a picture in which two dogs are sitting on an American flag that is spread out on the ground.
Some of Cuoco’s followers slammed her for the pic.

One critic wrote, “Showing disrespect for the flag, it should never touch the ground, or let your pet stand on it!” Another commented, “Shame on you, Kaley. You lost a fan.”
Some fans of “The Big Bang Theory” star noted that Cuoco wrote in the caption that the photo was taken when her dog sitter was supervising her pups.
“Thank you @the_pet_handler for taking care of the squad while im out of town! 4th of July pups!!!!!!!” she wrote.
One commenter suggested, “Maybe she didn’t know that it was a real flag after all she is out of town.”
The photo of Cuoco’s dogs garnered more than 400 comments with users debating the offensiveness of the pic. The actress took down the photo during the day on Tuesday.
Cuoco has remained silent on the criticism.
Based on her Instagram account, it seems the actress spent her weekend celebrating Independence Day with her new boyfriend, Karl Cook.
A rep for Cuoco did not immediately return FOX411's request for comment.
