President of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and Biden nominee Kristen Clarke made multiple posts on Twitter pushing the alleged hate crimes Smollett claimed had occurred.

An attorney for the brothers who Jussie Smollett allegedly paid to fake the racist and homophobic attack in January 2019 has filed a motion to intervene in the actor’s case, alleging that Smollett’s attorney led the brothers to believe he would represent them.

Jussie Smollett will make his feature film directorial debut amid his ongoing legal struggle. 

Jussie Smollett is once again asking that the charges against him be dismissed in a Chicago court, arguing that the grand jury testimony used in his second indictment is invalid. 

Former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett, who was famously accused of staging a racist, homophobic attack against him, said he is frustrated that he’s not able to speak out but maintained his innocence on Wednesday. 

The hearing took place at the Cook County Juvenile Building in Chicago. 

Special prosecutor Dan Webb sharply criticized the handling of the Smollett case by Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and her assistant prosecutors.
