Six dogs have died in South Carolina after being left by their owner in an 84 degree car.
North Charleston police told news outlets that a woman was ticketed after she left her dogs inside of her car at an animal clinic on Saturday.

The woman said she left the air conditioning on inside the car, and returned about 45 minutes later to find the air conditioning off and the dogs in distress, according to a police report.
Within 30 minutes, a car’s interior could jump from 85 degrees to 120, according to the ASPCA. The animal rescue organization advises people who see animals left unattended in a car on a hot day to try to locate the owner, or call emergency services.

The woman faces up to $1,100 in fines or 30 days in jail for each dog that died.
