Morelia rebounded from a poor result last week in style with a 4-1 victory over Pachuca on Friday which saw the club reach the summit of the Mexican Apertura table.

Jose Cardenas made it 3-0 for Morelia in the 19th minute before Pachuca pulled one back in first-half stoppage time through Duvier Riascos.

But Morelia put the result away in the 67th minute after Edgar Andrade scored to make it a three-goal advantage for the hosts. The result sees the club up to 16 points from its first eight matches, while Pachuca sits mid-table on nine points.
