NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points leader Timothy Peters won the pole for tonight’s American Ethanol 200 race at Iowa Speedway.

Peters ran 136.210 miles per hour in his Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra, which was enough to put him in the top spot ahead of Turner Motorsports driver Nelson Piquet Jr. Justin Lofton was third in his Eddie Sharp Racing Chevrolet, followed by James Buescher in a second Turner entry and the the ThorSport Racing Toyota of Johnny Sauter.

The second five consisted of Cale Gale, Matt Crafton, Ron Hornaday Jr., Jason Leffler and Miguel Paludo.

SPEED’s live television coverage of tonight’s race continues with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup at 8 p.m. and the race at 8:30 p.m.

After eight of 22 Truck Series races, Peters leads with 306 points, followed by Lofton and Ty Dillon, who have 302 points each. With 297 points, Buescher makes it four drivers separated by less than 10 points.
