Martha MacCallum currently serves as the anchor and executive editor of The Story with Martha MacCallum (weekdays, 3 PM/ET) on FOX News Channel (FNC), co-anchor of the network’s election coverage, and hosts the podcast, The Untold Story with Martha MacCallum. She joined FNC in 2004 and is based in New York.
Throughout her tenure with the network, MacCallum has played a role in every major political event since the 2004 presidential election through co-anchoring election coverage of the 2024 presidential election alongside Bret Baier. In January 2024, MacCallum co-moderated three back-to-back town halls with Bret Baier featuring 2024 GOP presidential candidates: former President Donald Trump, former Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Each town hall focused on the leading issues facing voters ahead of the Iowa Caucuses. During the 2024 presidential election cycle she also interviewed candidates including Vivek Ramaswamy, Chris Christie, Doug Burgum and Tim Scott. In August 2023, MacCallum and Baier co-moderated the first Republican presidential primary debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The two-hour debate averaged 13 million viewers across FNC and FOX Business Network, making it the highest-rated non-sports telecast of the year in viewership. In November 2022, MacCallum co-anchored FNC's midterm election coverage and co-hosted a one-hour debate between Ohio Senate candidates JD Vance and Tim Ryan.
In 2020, MacCallum co-anchored FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage with Baier as well, which garnered the highest ratings for an election night in cable news history with 14.1 million total viewers. During the 2020 election season, MacCallum and Baier also provided coverage of the presidential debates and their coverage of the first presidential debate was the most-watched in cable news history with nearly 18 million viewers. The duo also covered the Democratic and Republican National Conventions. Previously in the election cycle, Baier and MacCallum moderated a series of presidential election town halls with then-candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, and former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg. MacCallum & Baier’s sit-down virtual special with President Donald Trump from the Lincoln Memorial in May 2020 drew nearly 4 million viewers.
Following the 2020 election cycle, MacCallum secured a wide-ranging exclusive interview with former Trump Campaign Manager Brad Parscale which marked his first one-on-one sit down following his detainment and departing the campaign. In 2016, MacCallum launched The First Hundred Days, a program that documented the new Trump presidency and culminated in a White House interview with the President on his 100th day in office.
In 2025, MacCallum covered the Papal Conclave and the election of Pope Leo XIV. She also conducted an interview with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the U.N. General Assembly. In addition, she interviewed President Donald Trump during his September state trip to the United Kingdom. Leading up to the 2025 New York City mayoral election, MacCallum presented an exclusive interview with Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani. In 2023, MacCallum hosted a six-part series on FOX Nation detailing the Alex Murdaugh double homicide case with exclusive interviews, prison audio and never-before-seen family videos and photographs. In September 2022, MacCallum led FNC's coverage of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral live from London. Previously, MacCallum fronted FNC’s coverage of The Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II featuring special editions of The Story live from London. Earlier in 2022, she provided live coverage on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, anchoring special weekend reports as the situation intensified. She also anchored special coverage of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.
In December 2019, MacCallum co-anchored FNC’s coverage surrounding the impeachment hearings of President Donald Trump, which led all of broadcast and cable coverage in the ratings. MacCallum also helped lead coverage of the 2018 election which marked the highest-rated midterm election coverage in cable news history with total viewers, topping all of broadcast and cable news, according to Nielsen Media Research. Earlier that year, she landed an exclusive joint interview with then-Supreme Court nominee and now Justice Brett Kavanaugh and his wife Ashley Estes Kavanaugh. During the interview, which received widespread praise, Judge Kavanaugh addressed the multiple allegations of sexual misconduct he was up against.
During the 2016 election season, MacCallum co-moderated two Republican presidential primary debates alongside anchor Bill Hemmer in Des Moines, IA and Cleveland, OH, with the latter delivering 6.1 million viewers and 1.2 million viewers in the 25-54 key demographic. As part of the network’s political team, she has also covered multiple State of the Union addresses, the 75th anniversary of D-Day and earlier in her career, served as the lead reporter on exit poll data and key voting trends. She was also FNC’s lead anchor in London for the 2011 Royal Wedding and the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first child in 2013.
Since joining FNC in 2004, she has interviewed numerous political leaders and newsmakers, including: President Donald Trump, former NATO supreme allied commander Admiral James Stavridis, former Attorney General William Barr, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, former Defense Secretary James Mattis, General David Petraeus, then-Republican presidential candidates Senator John McCain, Gov. Mitt Romney, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former First Lady Laura Bush, former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson, Obama White House press secretary Josh Earnest, and former presidential candidate Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), among others.
Prior to joining the network, MacCallum held a variety of positions at NBC from 1997 to 2003. She was co-anchor of CNBC’s Morning Call with Martha MacCallum and Ted David and was the anchor of CNBC’s Checkpoint, an evening news program focusing on the war against terror and the Iraq war. A frequent contributor to The News with Brian Williams, NBC’s Today and CNBC World, MacCallum also created the series Inside the Business for CNBC’s Business Center. In 1997 and 2003, MacCallum was the recipient of the American Women in Radio and Television award for her reporting.
Before joining CNBC, MacCallum was an anchor and reporter for WBIS-TV (ION-31), a sports and business network in New York in 1996. Prior to that, she was a business correspondent at Wall Street Journal Television where she anchored The Wall Street Journal Report, World Market Outlook and Business USA from 1991-1996. She began her career as a reporter for Corporate Finance magazine.
MacCallum earned a B.A. in political science from St. Lawrence University. In 2024 she was honored by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society as its recipient of the John R. "Tex" McCray Award for Excellence in Journalism. She is the author of New York Times best seller, Unknown Valor: A Story of Family, Courage, and Sacrifice from Pearl Harbor to Iwo Jima.
