Drew Barrymore’s paternal half-sister was reportedly found dead Tuesday morning inside a car in National City, California, ABC San Diego reported.

The woman believed to be Jessica Barrymore, 48, was found lifeless in a vehicle by a neighbor, who told the news she was attempting to leave for work, but was blocked in by the car.

Marta Lopez told ABC that she walked over to the car to find Barrymore unresponsive in the driver’s seat.

“You need help, you need help,” Lopez asked the unresponsive Barrymore, who had a SoBe energy drink between her legs.

In the passenger seat, she saw dozens of white pills scattered around, Lopez told the press.

Another neighbor reported seeing the same car parked sometime around midnight.

“I thought she was sleeping or waiting for someone,” Oscar Sandoval said.

National City police told ABC that the woman’s cause of death is unknown, pending an autopsy. The Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that they have a body of a woman named Jessica Barrymore with the same birth date listed for the actress’ half-sister.

The Golden Globe winning actress told the Daily News in a statement: “Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I’m so incredibly sorry for their loss.”

Jessica Barrymore, born Brahma Blyth Barrymore, was the third child of actor John Drew Barrymore with his fourth wife Nina Wayne.
