SANAA, Yemen – Yemen has released the names of 25 wanted al-Qaida suspects and says they were planning terrorist attacks in the capital Sanaa and other cities across the country.
A statement Monday from the Interior Ministry says the men were going to target foreign offices and organizations and Yemeni installations.
Washington considers Yemen's al-Qaida branch among the most dangerous affiliates of the terror network.
The Yemeni statement named some alleged top figures in the branch, known as Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, including Saudi national Mohammed el-Rubaish.
The statement says security forces will pay $23,000 to anyone who comes forward with information that leads to the arrests of any of the wanted men.
The Yemeni statement comes as Washington closed 20 U.S. diplomatic missions in the Muslim world through the week, following warnings of a possible al-Qaida attack.
