When her husband was caught on video apparently touching inappropriately their 4-year-old daughter at a restaurant, and its appearance on social media sparked much condemnation, Silvia Algomeda sprung into action ... to defend the man nicknamed the "Tabasco pedophile."

Silvia Algomeda posted her own video on Facebook complaining that the allegations against her husband, Juan Vicente Hernández León, and his arrest have caused “moral and professional harm” to him. Her daughter, she added, has been harmed psychologically by being "taken forcibly" from her family.

In the original video, Hernández León is holding his daughter on is lap while she plays on a smart phone, and it shows him seeming to put his hands up the girl’s dress.

It was reported by the Mexican newspaper Excelsior that the restaurant employee who recorded the video and uploaded it to the Internet has since been let go from her job.

Hernández León claims that he was touching his daughter’s leg and stomach because she had had an accident at the Palenque waterfalls in Chiapas, where the family had been vacationing.

The father is still being held by police, and his attorney is alleging the video is insufficient evidence of wrongdoing.

If found guilty, he could serve anywhere between 15 and 20 years.

But at least Algomeda wife is standing by her man. "Would [my daughter] be so calm if my husband was touching her inappropriately?"

Additionally, she alleges that the restaurant video was uploaded to social media with the intent of harming her family.
