Virtual Pablo Neruda walks the streets of Chile's capital 40 years after the poet's death

SANTIAGO, Chile – Forty years after his death, Pablo Neruda will once again write and recite love poems, and walk through Santiago's streets to the admiring gazes of Chileans — virtually, that is.

The Nobel Prize-winning poet will be seen Friday in the window of his former home in Santiago, which is now a museum, writing verses. Then his figure will be visible on the facades of buildings and homes as he slowly strolls the capital's streets.

The urban project is part of an initiative by the Pablo Neruda Foundation on the 110th anniversary of his birth. A moving projector will send the image of the poet against buildings, giving the impression he is walking along Santiago avenues.
