US military says American soldier dies in noncombat accident in Baghdad
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}BAGHDAD (AP) — The U.S. military says one American soldier has died in Baghdad.
A military statement on Thursday says the soldier died on Wednesday of injuries sustained in a noncombat related accident.
It says the incident is under investigation and provided no details. The name of the deceased soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The death raises to 4,402 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in Iraq since the war began in March 2003. That's according to an Associated Press count.
