Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad is about to come to an "inevitable end."

He urged regional leaders to unite in order to prevent the Syrian conflict from further destabilizing the Middle East.

Erdogan told an international conference in the Ukrainian city of Yalta that "we must say a vocal 'no' to this drama of humankind, not let the flame engulf the whole region."

Turkey is concerned that Kurdish rebels could exploit the power vacuum in neighboring Syria and has warned it would not tolerate any rebel threats from Syrian territory.
