TEL AVIV, Israel – Thousands of people are rallying in Tel Aviv in support of Israel's hard-line, right-wing parties.
Sunday's rally comes two days ahead of Israel's parliamentary elections. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party has been trailing its main opponent, the centrist Zionist Union, in recent polls.
Netanyahu has conducted a media blitz in recent days, hoping to lure voters and close the gap. Netanyahu and other party leaders are expected to address the rally.
The crowd held blue and white banners supporting Israel's myriad right-wing parties. The participants, many wearing Jewish skullcaps, waved Israeli flags.
The rally comes eight days after thousands of supporters of centrist and left-wing parties held a similar demonstration in the same Tel Aviv square.
