No survivors were found after a vintage plane with six people on board crashed in Australia.
The two-day search for survivors near the wreckage site in Queensland ended Wednesday as authorities said the plane was "fundamentally destroyed," according to The Courier-Mail.
The red vintage biplane reportedly was found in a "remote" region filled with rugged terrain too rough for a rescue helicopter to land in.
Reports suggest pilot Des Porter's 1934 de Havilland DH84 Dragon was not equipped to fly through fog or cloud, and weather likely contributed to the crash.
Porter, 68, called for help about two hours after the plane took off and weather conditions began to deteriorate, The Courier-Mail reports.
Rescue helicopters reportedly were unable to reach The Dragon before they lost contact with Porter.
