Philippine train rams concrete barrier and rolls into busy street, injuring scores

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine police say a passenger train has rammed through a concrete barrier and rolled into a busy road intersection, injuring scores of passengers.

Senior Superintendent Florencio Ortilla says injured passengers were removed from the front car of the train and taken to a hospital after the accident Wednesday in Pasay city in metropolitan Manila. There were no immediate reports of any deaths from the accident, which created a huge traffic jam.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident.
