Officials: New attacks across Iraq kill at least 11 people, wound 19

BAGHDAD – Iraqi officials say separate attacks across the country have killed at least 11 people and wounded 19.

Police officials say one bomb went off at an outdoor market in a southeastern Baghdad suburb while another targeted a patrol of pro-government anti-al-Qaida Sunni militia north of the country's capital. Each of those attacks killed three people and wounded a total of 12.

A police officer says militants attacked a police station and an army patrol near the northern city of Mosul, killing two policemen and two soldiers and wounding seven troops in those attacks.

And in Baghdad, a doctor was killed when a bomb attached to his car exploded.

Medical officials confirmed the causality figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to media.
