Official: 7 people die after midair crash of 2 planes in western Slovakia

A Slovakian official says two planes have collided in the air over western Slovakia, killing seven people.

Zuzana Farkasova, a spokeswoman for the Slovak firefighters, says the accident took place Thursday about 0830 GMT (2:30 a.m. EDT) near the village of Cerveny Kamen. She could not immediately say how many people were on board each of the planes or what types of planes had crashed.

The Slovak TA3 news television says two unspecified sports planes have crashed.
