A political party that just left Nepal's coalition government has partnered with the main opposition party to file a no-confidence motion against the prime minister.

The motion was filed in parliament on Wednesday, a day after the Maoist party pulled out of the government, accusing Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli of failing to honor past agreements.

The Maoists and the main opposition Nepali Congress party are now working to try to form a new coalition government.

Oli is refusing to resign, insisting he'll face the confidence vote, which will likely take place next week.

Oli became prime minister last October, heading Nepal's eighth government in the past 10 years.
