Most women would agree that few things are more painful and heartbreaking than suffering through a miscarriage. So just imagine what it must be like to have one and then be harshly punished for doing so.

Yet that's exactly what happened to Glenda Xiomara Cruz in El Salvador.

Shortly after the 19-year-old Salvadorian teen lost her baby, she was charged with aggravated murder—even though she had absolutely no control over the infant's death.
