Israeli police have confirmed the arrest of an Israeli pro-Palestinian activist who was caught on video boasting that he has put the lives of Palestinians who sell land to Israeli settlers at risk.

An Israeli TV program this month showed activist Ezra Nawi saying that he has turned over Arab land dealers to Palestinian authorities, knowing they could be killed. The sale of Palestinian land to Jews is seen as treason by many Palestinians.

Police said Thursday that Nawi was arrested last week, shortly after the interview was aired, and charged with conspiracy to commit crime and making contact with a foreign agent.

The report was not clear whether Nawi's actions have gotten anyone killed.

Nawi's arrest comes as dovish groups say they are coming under fire for their work.
