{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A hardline Islamist has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a Tunisian opposition leader, a security source told Reuters.
The killing of Chokri Belaid on Feb. 6 outside his house sparked widespread protests across the country.
"The police arrested a Salafist suspected of killing Belaid," the source told Reuters Monday. Belaid’s brother could not confirm the report.

Belaid’s father led more than 3,000 Tunisians in a protest against what they called a “slow” investigation into the death on Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
