For third time in 2 days, defendant in 9/11 case is ejected from Guantanamo court

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba – For the third time in two days, a Guantanamo Bay prisoner has been ejected from a military courtroom on the U.S. naval base for arguing with the judge presiding over the Sept. 11 case.

Ramzi Binalshibh was led out of the courtroom Wednesday by troops during a pretrial hearing after ignoring warnings to stop speaking. Binalshibh was accusing guards of making noises in his cell to keep him awake. He says it is intentional sleep deprivation that amounts to torture. He made the same claims Tuesday and was ejected twice from the court.

U.S. officials deny anyone is making noises. The judge says Binalshibh's lawyers must file a motion if they want to pursue the allegations.

Binalshibh is one of five prisoners charged in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack.
