An X-ray machine that sees through clothing is being tested starting on Tuesday at England's Manchester Airport, according to Sky News.
The device captures a "naked" image of passengers so that staff can see if they are hiding explosives or weapons.
An airport spokesman described the images as "quite revealing."
Five years ago the X-ray machine was used at Heathrow Airport, but it quickly ended after travelers expressed shock at the clarity of the pictures.
Transport officials in the U.S. initially decided not to use the equipment until manufacturers found a way of electronically masking sensitive body parts.
The scanner can detect items such as body piercings and breast enlargements.
During the 12-month trial, passengers at Manchester Airport can volunteer to go through the "human x-ray" or opt instead for a hand search.
