BANGUI, Central African Republic – An angry crowd has brutally slain a man in Central African Republic's capital only moments after the president and other VIPs left the area.
Associated Press journalists at the scene say it happened Wednesday in a field where thousands of soldiers were coming to re-enlist in the national army.
Moments after the presidential motorcade drove off, the crowd accused one man of being a rebel. First they stabbed the man, and then began kicking him on the ground and pelting him with rocks. After he was killed, the crowd dragged his body through the streets.
Central African Republic has descended to near anarchy over the last year, and mobs kill civilians with increasing brutality on a daily basis.
