Capsule carrying 2 Russians, 1 American returns from space station

MOSCOW – Russian mission control says a Soyuz capsule carrying two Russians and one American has landed in Kazakhstan after the trio spent nearly six months aboard the International Space Station.

The capsule landed Thursday in heavy fog southeast of the town of Dzhezkazgan on the Kazakh steppes.

The capsule is carrying Russians Alexander Samokutayev and Elena Serova and NASA's Barry Wilmore.

There was no immediate word on the astronauts' condition. Recovery workers were heading for the capsule, from which the three are to be taken out one at a time.
