Iraqi officials say two bombings, including a suicide attack on a security post outside Baghdad, have killed at least 11 people.

Police officials say the deadliest attack took place Wednesday night when a suicide bomber drove a car packed with explosives into an abandoned building used by security forces in the town of Tarmiyah, some 50 kilometers (30 miles) north of Baghdad.

The officials say five soldiers and three policemen were killed, and at least 16 members of the security forces were wounded.

Police say another bombing on a commercial street in Baghdad's northern district of Khazimiyah killed three people and wounded eight.

Medical officials confirmed the causalities. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to release the information.
