Two student activists recently deported by Colombia have surfaced in a homemade video discussing a plans to stockpile weapons and detonate explosives on Venezuela's western border

The video that aired Monday night on pro-government TV program purports to contain excerpts from a recording of Skype video conference Lorent Saleh and Gabriel Valles had with an unidentified third person whose voice is distorted.

It's not clear when the recording took place or how it was obtained.

But in it the two students boast they've obtained two bricks of C4 explosives and received weapons training in Colombia.

Lawyers for the jailed students and the group they belong to weren't available for comment.

The video is likely to embolden President Nicolas Maduro who accuses opponents of trying to violently overthrow his socialist government.
