3 from Thai rescue helicopter that disappeared 10 days ago walk into Myanmar village

YANGON, Myanmar – A foundation in Myanmar says three people who were on board a Thai rescue helicopter that disappeared 10 days ago walked to safety.

Photos shared by the Htoo Foundation on Facebook showed the three looking fit and well after their arrival Tuesday afternoon in a village in northern Kachin state.

Foundation spokesman Phyo Ko Ko said, "All three of them walked for many miles." He declined to give details of the helicopter that lost contact with ground control on Sept. 27. The flight was to drop food for a team searching for two Myanmar mountain climbers missing since Aug. 31.

The foundation has been leading the search for the helicopter and the climbers.
