Two cruise ship lines are returning to the eastern Caribbean island of St. Kitts after suspending port calls due to an armed robbery of ship passengers earlier this month.

Police on the tourism-dependent island recently charged five people in the Nov. 14 holdup of a tour bus filled with passengers from the cruise liner Celebrity Mercury.

Officials with Carnival Cruise Lines and Princess Cruises announced the resumption of their visits on Monday.

Steve Nielsen is a spokesman for Princess Cruises. He says that the company appreciates "everything St. Kitts has done to mitigate this most unfortunate and unusual situation."
