The Paris prosecutor's office says about 10 people have been arrested, most of them in the south of France, as authorities dismantle a network sending would-be jihadis to Syria.

Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre, spokeswoman for the Paris prosecutor's office, said four of those detained Monday were already jailed for unrelated minor crimes. She did not know how many people the network had recruited.

Thibault-Lecuivre said the investigation into the network was opened in December 2013.
