Northern California and portions of the West will continue seeing scattered rain and snow showers over the next few days. The Russian River in Northern California is cresting this morning and will remain in major flood stage as river levels slowly recede. Another round of heavier rain and snow moves into the region this weekend.

A wintry mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow will move across the Central Appalachians, then Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today through tomorrow.  Accumulations, if any, will be light.

Portions of the Northern Plains, Upper Midwest, and Great Lakes remain below average today and Friday, with another shot of Arctic air returning this weekend.
