Multiple systems spread heavy rain, snow and wind across the Pacific

The West remains very active this week as multiple systems from the Pacific spread heavy rain, snow, and wind across the region.  Flash flooding is possible across Northern and Southern California, including recent wildfire burn areas.

These Western systems will track across the country, bringing multiple chances for snow across the East.  The first brings rain and snow through the Midwest and Ohio Valley Thursday, spreading to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Thursday night into Friday.

The system behind that will be stronger, with more potential for heavier precipitation across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic over the weekend, but it is way too early to make a call on heavy rain vs. snow for the region, depending on the low’s ultimate track.
