Commissioner Raymond Kelly departed Monday for Port-au-Prince (port-oh-PRIHNS') for a series of daylong meetings sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. The meetings are expected to lay the groundwork for placing six Creole-speaking NYPD officers in the country to help train Haitians.
Kelly says in a phone interview from Haiti security is major concern following January's devastating earthquake because hundreds of thousands of people are sleeping in camps.
