More than 4,000 hogs die in fire at North Carolina farm
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A fire at a farm in central North Carolina has killed more than 4,000 hogs.
WRAL-TV reports the fire started around 11 p.m. Wednesday at a 700-acre farm in Moore County near Eagle Springs.
The station reported that the hogs ranged from 14 to 45 pounds.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Fire officials were able to keep the fire from spreading to another building with more hogs.
Officials say the hogs were worth about $400,000. The building was estimated to be worth about $600,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
