Jackpot: 101-year-old wins $50,000 Arizona Lottery scratch-off prize

A 101-year-old great-great-great-grandma got to pose with an oversized check last week after winning a $50,000 lottery scratch-off prize in Arizona.

The Arizona Republic said Lily Camacho plays the occasional scratch-off ticket that her 78-year-old son buys for her, with none paying off until last Tuesday.  Her luck finally turned when she scratched off a $5 Money Tree game ticket and won the grand prize.

“The Lord just told me to buy that ticket,” Eusebio Camacho told the paper.

Arizona Lottery officials couldn't have been happier for the centenarian.

“At 101 years old, she is one of the oldest Arizona Lottery winners we have had the pleasure of meeting and hope this win brings joy to her and her family this holiday season,” said the agency's Karen Bach.

The Republic said Lily's plans for the money were a secret, but the winnings could come in handy when she goes Christmas shopping. She has 24 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
