Florida Man Arrested for Allegedly Price-Fixing Walmart Items
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A Florida man was arrested after police noticed him allegedly ‘rolling back’ the prices of Walmart items by placing pre-made bar code stickers on products.
Fort Pierce police said Horace Shannon, 43, applied a sticker onto a newly released DVD at the Okeechobee Road store that dropped its price from $24.96 to $5 when scanned at the cash register.
According to a police report obtained by WPBF, Shannon saved $150 on ‘discounted’ DVDs and Lego sets purchased through the scam.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities became aware of the operation after viewing surveillance video that showed Shannon purchasing the items and refunding one of the Lego sets with a receipt for its regular price.
Shannon was arrested on a theft charge.
