A Colorado man was killed Saturday after apparently losing control of the Maserati he was driving and crashed into a ditch.
Authorities in Douglas County identified the driver of the car as 24-year-old Brandon Gionapoulos. He was driving the blue Maserati before crashing it into the ditch off Highway 470. A passerby spotted the mangled vehicle in the ditch at around 10 a.m. and alerted police, according to CBS Denver.
The station reported that Gionapoulos was a salesman at Mike Ward Maserati and Infiniti and had access to expensive cars like the Maserati. The dealership is located about a mile from the crash site.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said that “reckless speeds” were one of the causes of the wreck.
According to CBS Denver, Gionapoulos posted a video on Facebook of him driving a Maserati and showing the speedometer going from 0 mph to 111 mph in about 20 seconds.
It was unclear if the video had any connection to the car accident.
