Bowie man charged with beating his mother to death with rolling pin
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A Maryland man has been charged with beating his mother to death with a rolling pin.
Prince George's County Police said in a news release Friday that they have charged 22-year-old Charles Crockett of Bowie with first- and second-degree murder in the death of 55-year-old Roberta Susan Crockett.
Police say that during an argument he was having with his mother on Sept. 6, Charles Crockett repeatedly hit his mother in the head. They say a relative intervened, injured Charles Crockett with the rolling pin, and restrained him until police arrived.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Roberta Crockett was taken to a hospital, where she died Wednesday. Police charged Charles Crockett on Thursday. He is being held without bail. Online court records do not list a lawyer for him.
