Authorities say 18-year-old Michigan woman made false abduction claim
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Authorities in southeastern Michigan said Sunday that an 18-year-old woman falsely claimed that she was abducted and held hostage for 16 hours earlier this week.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office released a statement after Hayley Turner was interviewed for a second time by a detective and an FBI agent.
"As a result of that interview," the statement said, "it was determined that the incident did not take place, as originally reported."

Turner's reported abduction spurred a search that involved local, state, and federal agencies and included a helicopter. Turner was found Friday morning in the nearby town of Ecorse after reportedly jumping from a slow-moving vehicle.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said it is closing the investigation and will refer the matter to the county prosecutor for review.
