35 illegal immigrants found packed in van trying to cross border, US Border Patrol says
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Thirty-five illegal immigrants were found packed in a van attempting to cross into the U.S. approximately five miles west of the San Ysidro Port of Entry near San Diego.
Agents observed a large number of individuals enter the vehicle on a secluded dirt road and subsequently stopped the van to question the occupants, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
The group was then taken to a local border patrol station for processing and further investigation.

Just two days earlier, a Border Patrol K-9 team inspecting a Ford Truck driven by a Mexican national discovered a bag of methamphetamine weighing 9.92 pounds, carrying an estimated street value of $198,400.
