The Real Obama: Blame game

SEAN HANNITY, HOST OF "HANNITY": Meanwhile tonight, we bring you another installment of 'The Real Obama' as we continue to vet the President. Now, we're shedding light on the anointed one's inability to accept blame for anything. Now, he admonishes the press corps for his quote, cold and aloof image and despite being the leader of the free world, for well over three years now, everything is still, well, his predecessor's fault, except for gas prices. Now, listen to who and what he has pointed fingers at since he has taken office.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: We were inheriting so many challenges. We knew this was going to take time because we've got this big, messy, tough democracy. The previous administration and previous Congresses created an expensive new drug program, passed massive tax cuts for the wealthy and funded two wars without paying for any of them. If we had taken office during ordinary times, we would have started bringing down these deficits immediately. These are far from the best of times. By any measure, my administration inherited a fiscal disaster. There is no doubt this has been a tumultuous year. We’ve weathered the Arab Spring’s affect on oil and gas prices, the Japanese earthquake and tsunami's affect on supply chains, the extraordinary economic uncertainty in Europe, and recently markets around the globe have taken a bumpy ride. We already had a big deficit that I inherited -- One of the main reasons our economy faltered was because some on Wall Street made irresponsible bets. There is some structure issue with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers. You see it when you go to a bank and you use an ATM, you don't go to a bank teller. Or you go to the airport, and you're using a kiosk, instead of checking-in at the gate. We inherited a big mess.

HANNITY: Joining me now with reaction, the co-host "The Five," she deals with Beckel five days a week, Dana Perino and from the Fox Business Network Stuart Varney. I think my favorite though, and I know you probably take it personally because, you know, when all else fails, you always blame George W. Bush. But he doesn't blame Bush for the $1.79 a gallon gas prices he inherited. But blaming kiosks and ATM machines -- when did we invent them, 1980?

STUART VARNEY, FOX BUSINESS NETWORK: Yes. Before I was born if you believe.

HANNITY: Yes, you would.

VARNEY: Look, high gas prices, you blame the oil companies and you tax them. Economy's a bit sluggish, you blame the banks because they won't lend. Regulate them. You got high drug prices? Blame the drug companies, and blame them, and tax them some more. But what've you to do at all costs is shield your record. Blame somebody else when failure is all around you. That's what the president's doing.

HANNITY: And the amazing thing is, he got everything he wanted with Reid and Pelosi, got a stimulus, another stimulus, he got all of his trillion-dollar deficits. He got everything he wanted; he got his health care plan. You know, nothing worked though.

DANA PERINO, CO-HOST OF "THE FIVE": Imagine if President Bush had for the entire time after 2001 and the 9/11 attacks said that he had inherited the problem because Bill Clinton didn't take the shot and kill Osama Bin Laden. How would that have united the country?

HANNITY: It wouldn’t have, but there is some truth to that. Because we were offered Bin Laden.

PERINO: And that's right; there is some truth to every president inherits a big plate of things from the previous president, including a recession. President Obama's happened to be worse than the one President Bush inherited. But either way, President Obama has not been able to get beyond the President Bush blame game because that's how they won election in 2008.

HANNITY: All right.

PERINO: They keep campaigning every single day.

HANNITY: Bob Beckel gets mad at me.

PERINO: Well, he gets mad at everything.

HANNITY: No, that's a good point.

PERINO: He just like lives mad.

HANNITY: He gets mad at me because when I play -- we just made this - - this is a new one. We put it all together and this is the all part of the vetting of Obama. And we're going to do it every night until election night. Beckel gets mad because when I see that, I say, he's president cry baby. I think he needs to man up, put his pants on, sit at the table and take responsibility.

VARNEY: He's president divisiveness, because what he's doing is very divisive. If you're constantly pointing the blame and you're creating targets. That's what you are doing.
