And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

In-Fighting

Some conservatives are lashing out at fellow Republicans for a plan to oppose GOP candidates they deem un-electable.

The American Crossroads super PAC founded by Karl Rove

Will support primary opposition to candidates it believes have little chance of winning the general election candidates like former Missouri Congressman Todd Akin who lost his Senate bid after his comments about what he called 'legitimate rape'.

Matt Hoskins of the Senate Conservatives Fund calls the plan a comical attempt to silence the conservative base.

He said -- quote -- "Rather than listening to the grassroots and working to advance their principles, the establishment has chosen to declare war on the party's most loyal supporters."

Bad Sport

CNN's Piers Morgan is being flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

He tweeted after the Super Bowl -- quote -- "Got to laugh at Ravens being declared 'World Champions' of a competition only American teams enter."

Snark, snark.

Fans were quick to strike back with some tweets of their own. Quote -- "Any time England's team wants to come and play they are welcome to challenge...something tells me they might just concede."

Quote -- "You should start the first British NFL team and change that. Would be nice to see you do something besides complain."

Quote -- "And you wonder why the country you live in wants you deported."

That last tweet is a reference to a petition sent to the White House last month with more than 100,000 signatures asking the president to deport Morgan.

Popular Plan

The number of teenage girls in New York City who received the morning-after pill in school is almost 24 times higher than originally reported.

The New York Post writes, almost 13,000 doses of Plan B were handed out by school nurses during the last school year -- in contrast to the 567 doses reported when the program was revealed in September.

Under New York law, minors do not need to get parental permission to receive contraceptives.

Space Cadet

And finally, following claims that Iran successfully launched a monkey into orbit, guess who's next? President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says he wants to be the first human sent into space by Iran.
