And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Scout's Honor

The Boy Scouts of America is reaffirming its policy of excluding gays -- as both leaders and scouts.

The decision comes after a two-year review.

An 11-member special committee unanimously backed the long-standing policy that was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2000.

Gay rights groups are not pleased-- one calling it

-- "a missed opportunity of colossal proportions."

Kicking the Habit

President Obama is using his teleprompter less and less these days -- as the campaign kicks into high gear.

The Hill reports Team Obama thinks it will help him better connect with voters.

A political communications professor says the teleprompter has become a crutch.

Quote -- "It seemed as though he couldn't go anywhere without them -- and it made him seem unconfident and robotic."

You might remember President Obama was mocked by The Daily Show's Jon Stewart -- for using teleprompters while speaking inside a sixth-grade classroom.

Kiss and Make Up

Finally -- the first couple needed a "kiss cam"  do-over during last night's USA versus Brazil basketball game here in Washington.

This is what happened initially.

Boos there.

After that -- the press pool was escorted out of the arena -- only to be brought back an hour later -- just in time for "kiss cam" round two.

The press report read -- "pool just happened to be brought back into the arena for another quick photo op when --

Yes the first couple was once again put up on the kiss cam."

That wasn't luck -- a stadium official confirms white house officials called --saying the Obama's did not realize what was going on the first time around --

And asked for a second try at that smooch.
