Forget flying trapeze artists and elephants, there’s a different kind of circus coming to town – with drones. “Air,” billed as the world’s first “drone circus,” will be an air show solely featuring drones to be held at the Amsterdam Arena at a yet-to-be-announced date, CNET reports.
The show is being spearheaded by Fjuze, a Dutch event planning company, in partnership with the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
“In this high-energy and explosive show, drones will take centre stage to bring a collaboration and fusion of music, video, projections and special effects,” reads the show’s official website.
Information on performance dates or ticket sales have yet to announced, but for those curious to learn more about the world’s first “drone circus,” Air has released a cool, CGI-filled trailer that serves as a preview of what is to come.
Think of it as a circus made for the 21st century that uses technology to move beyond lion tamers and clowns.
“Air allows you to experience a variety of ballet and battles, races and lasers, circus, illusions and most of all magic from hundreds of drones,” reads the official website.
