As heavy fighting is reported in the Iraqi city of Baqouba (search), there's been a claim of responsibility for attacks there.

Insurgents have launched an apparently coordinated series of attacks in Baqouba and several other cities, killing dozens of people.

A statement quoted by a Saudi Web site claims responsibility for the Baqouba attacks in the name of wanted militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi (search). The claim says the insurgents belong to his movement, and calls on residents to "comply with the instructions of resistance" and stay home.

The claim goes on to say, "These days are going to witness campaigns and attacks against the occupation troops and those who stand beside them."
